Welcome students, parents and all those interested! My name is Michelle Edwards and I have been a teacher at Mt. Stuart for 13 years. I began in kindergarten and moved to 2nd grade in 2008. I had always wanted to teach kindergarten and never, in my wildest dreams thought I'd ever be doing anything else, however, with the retirement of a colleague, I decided to get brave and try something new.
Oh my gosh, what a wonderful move it was! I knew I was going to like 2nd grade when, on the first day of school, I asked the children to line up and before I could blink my eyes they were! That would have take 15 minutes on the first day of school with kindergarteners :) I had been a little apprehensive about the move, but not anymore. I figured I'd have tons more teaching time and I was ready for that. Second grade rocks!
A little about myself... I have lived in this lovely valley nearly all my life. My husband Warren, is a Kittitas Valley "lifer" and we have two grown sons, Reid and Blake. We spent many years motocrossing up and down the west coast and they were years I thoroughly enjoyed. Both boys still reside in Ellensburg which we are thankful for. My personal interests include loving anything furry and training young horses with my husband. We have 4 horses, Big Rowdy, Trio, Buddy and Ladd and 2 dogs, Arai and Trampas that are our constant companions; the pickup doesn't leave home without them. We have one very black cat, Noleen. I'm looking forward to another great year at Mt. Stuart, especially with kids that can tie their shoes :) Always, Michelle | |||||||
